Much needed update!

Hello everyone! So we haven't blogged in weeks but I think we have a good excuse. By the way, to all of our blog followers that have children...Why didn't anyone tell me that after the baby comes you have absolutely NO time for anything. Well, I knew things would be different but I can't even make it to the shower before lunchtime! Bless you all that have more than one! Hopefully we get a routine down soon :)

Carter is doing fantastic. He is sleeping through the night already most of the time. If he doesn't he is up just once around four. We are definately satisfied with this progress. He had his two week check up yesterday. Carter is growing like a weed! He loves to eat and its hard to believe its been two weeks already! He was 9 lbs 1 oz and 21 inches long. We are starting to learn more and more about his personality everyday! We have plans to bless him this coming Sunday at church.

Andrew and I are also well. For those who know Andrew's story, we still have no updates. He has his next appointment with the flight doctor on the 23rd of June! Another month to just hang out and wait...we're hoping that in the next couple of months we might know more. Cross your fingers! This summer has been great so far. We have been enjoyed bar-b-queing, gardening and taking walks to the lake. Andrew has been playing softball for his squadron and having tons of fun. I really enjoy going to the games as well. He loves the competition...I guess Scrabble against me wasn't doing it for him!

Update on my mom...she switched doctors and is now seeing a specialist in St. Louis, which is a little further to travel but worth it. She had a port put in on Monday and had her first chemo treatment yesterday. She was super scared but made it through the first day. She will continue to have chemo for the next four months. We are still waiting for a couple of test results but as of now the cancer has not spread to her chest cavity or beyond. So far the only side effect has been a really bad headache but the doctors say it will take a few days for her to fully see the effects of the medication. She is hanging in there. I think that Carter gives her SO much to stay strong for. I know that when she is around him, nothing else is on her mind.

Well, that is a brief update of what is happening in the Drysdale household. I am planning on posting pictures later today! Check back.

I'm glad everything is going well! Yes, having kids definitely takes up most of your time. Once you figure out a schedule you'll find more time, not much though. : ) I can't wait to see more pictures!! Give Carter kisses for me and let your mom know that she's in our prayers.
